Driving to school on Tuesday, I noticed a Guy Fawkes mask in the back window of the car in front of me. This was not surprising, as November 5th always commemorates the anniversary of Guy Fawkes' involvement in "The Gun Powder" plot. What I can't help but wonder, is how many fans of V for Vendetta (the book or the movie) or advocates of Anonymous, actually know about who this mask represents? Usually, we remember the event with a poem: The Fifth of November English Folk Verse (c.1870) Remember, remember! So what exactly was the Gunpowder Plot? And why do we remember Guy Fawkes? It started in 1605, with persecution, conspiracy, spying, murder, and the plot to blow-up the English Parliament. Lear more here.
